No one can quite remember when the London Swingfonia was born, but it must be getting on for a decade or so. The brainchild of long-standing former bandleader, Chris Murray and original member, trumpet player Clem Schiphorst, it neatly filled a gap in the London music scene. Our usual format is: Harry Martin, our superb vocalist; 5 saxophones, 2 tenors, 2 altos and baritone; 4 trombones; 4 trumpets and a rhythm section of drums, double bass, guitar and keyboards. |
